Blog Tip #4: How to optimize a blog

Search engines like relevant new content and blogs are a great way to keep adding new keyword-rich content to a website. It is important to make sure your content reads well to a visitor on your site while also making sure the search engines find those relevant keywords.

When creating a blog post, it is critical to keep your keywords in mind.  We recommend creating a list of your keywords and always having the list in front of you when you are brainstorming ideas for your blog.

• Make sure you use your keywords in the title of your post whenever possible.  Blog software (like WordPress or Blogger) will use the title of the post in several prominent places (links, page titles, etc.) .
• Tag your posts with the keywords you used within the post.  The tags will help search engines and visitors find relevant content.
• Categorize your posts into keyword-rich categories.  Again, the category list will help both the search engines and your site visitors find relevant content.
